BUY LESS TWICE

How to Stop Buying Household Duplicates

Duplicate purchases usually happen because the household cannot answer three questions quickly: do we own it, where is it and is it available to use?
STEP 01

Search before adding

Search the entire household with the name you would naturally use. Include synonyms such as sofa/couch, medicine/medication or extension lead/cord.

STEP 02

Save the exact location

A result should show the path immediately—not force you to open five screens. Move the item record when the physical item moves.

STEP 03

Track empty, missing and borrowed

Do not confuse owned with available. Mark items that are empty, missing, loaned out or reserved for a project so search results remain trustworthy.

STEP 04

Use one shared list

Add the genuine gap to one household Shopping List. Move it through Need, In Cart and Put Away so the same purchase is not made twice.
